Is it still advisable to use this crate given the current state of maintenance?

I've been having a hard time already to even run a simple example, since they seem to all diverge (README, examples/, docs.rs) and it looks like all of them haven't been updated in a long time.

I saw the notice about the look for new maintainers and I'd like to know if you still advise to use this crate.
