Description
Originally, when we designed the categories, we said you could define as many as needed, and we could hide some from the pulldowns when presented to the users. So I defined categories for clients, for characters, for all sorts of things, with the intention that they would be hidden from the users.
https://zpl.io/amp5XmQ (original design)
Now, there is no 'Hide' in admin, and as a result, there are very long lists of categories, especially in the publish and advanced search! THe categories that should be presented are relevant to JIG categorization, and not necessarily images, and some were for internal categorization.
Please implement the hide option.

Research direction
Start by tracing the admin category-management flow and the category dropdowns used in publishing and advanced search. Review the original design at https://zpl.io/amp5XmQ and identify where category visibility is stored and applied. Done means administrators can hide categories and hidden categories no longer appear in the relevant user-facing lists.
