Preview without committing when using a text editor

Right now, changes to the page files made with a text editor will not show up on the wiki until said changes are committed on Git. This is very frustrating when writing initial drafts where I need a quick way to preview my changes.

It would be helpful if we could disable this behaviour (globally or per-page, whatever is easier) so that the Wiki always reflects the current state of the file system instead of showing the last committed versions.
