Description

**Topic**

Currently, when using the patch functionality to move changes from one commit into a new commit the new commit will be created using the current user data, even if the original commit is made by someone else.

**Your thoughts**

I think the author of the original commit should also be the author of the newly created commit with their changes. :+1:

This might be situational or a question of taste, so I created a Discussion instead of a Feature or Bug.

Maybe we can have a reaction vote or something If you agree.
