Feature Request: dynamic/external content for "Add note with build status on GitLab merge requests"

I came here to ask/request the same than #848

I got that is not possible to pass environment variables, and unfortunately i cannot use pipeline-jobs... so, i was wondering if instead would be possible reading a file from the workspace, and if it does exists then the contents are appended to the custom message(s)?
