Constant "you have 1500 updates pending" on startup

Hi,

So I'm using this plugin (because I guess it should be good to use it? Honestly I have no idea why I'm even using it it, couldn't hurt (I thought))
But there is a problem. Pretty much always when I start up Kodi, I get a pop up that there are ~1500 updates pending.

If I click yes, it goes ahead and updates everything, and everything works fine thereafter. But then when I restart kodi again the pop-up is back. I've tried manually updating libraries from the add-on settings (multiple times), I've tried reinstalling the add-on, but nothing helps. The pop-up is just always back, if not immediately on the next restart, then a few restarts later the next day or whatever. (My hypothesis is that whenever there is just any one single update that Kodi is missing, I get the popup that everything has an update)

If I click "no" on the pop-up (or close it), then I don't get any syncs to my Kodi from Jellyfin, which is bad of course.

I've attached an image of the pop-up below. Any advice on what I may be doing wrong would be appreciated. Would also be happy to help debug this with with logs or giving extra information or whatever. Just let me know what you need.
