Greetings,

At present, there are no designated individuals assigned to oversee this project. I wish to extend my volunteering efforts to take on the responsibility of maintaining it. This package is integral to my Django applications, which I am currently in the process of upgrading to version 5.0. However, for this transition to be successful, it's imperative that django-smart-selects is compatible with Django 5.0.

Rather than creating a fork and maintaining a personalized version for my own use, I am eager to contribute to the broader community by actively participating in the development of this project.
