Description
This is what I found on the logs:
```
[2020-03-31 11:57:27.406] [exthost] [error] {"message":"Git error","stdout":"","stderr":"fatal: pathspec '/Users/danielo/hello-reason/_esy/default/build/_esy' is beyond a symbolic link\n","exitCode":128}
```
I just cloned the hello-reason repository recommended by esy.
From now, formatting seems to be not doing anything, for example.
Let me know if I can provide anything else.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue by cloning the recommended hello-reason repository and reviewing the reported esy path error. Start with the language-server behavior around version detection and formatting; done means esy version retrieval and formatting work without the symbolic-link failure.
