Filter bar that stays or defaults to open

Since filtering is an activity I am constantly using, it's kind of annoying to have to go to the bottom of the window and turn on filters every time I change tables.

I'd love it if either there was a preference option to always have filters open, or perhaps if filters stayed open until you close them even when changing tables.
