Description

Seems Modrinth had issues and is resolved. Before I close this issue one last thought... Do you think it would be sensible to add `IGNORE_FAILED_UPGRADES` that would ignore failed version checks or downloads if a local copy exists? In case something like this happens in the future.

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start by locating the startup logic for Modrinth version checks and downloads, then review how existing environment options are handled. Done means a local copy is retained when a Modrinth check or download fails, with tests covering the new option.
