### Checklist

- [X] I have searched for [similar issues](https://github.com/isl-org/Open3D/issues).
- [X] For Python issues, I have tested with the [latest development wheel](http://www.open3d.org/docs/latest/getting_started.html#development-version-pip).
- [X] I have checked the [release documentation](http://www.open3d.org/docs/release/) and the [latest documentation](http://www.open3d.org/docs/latest/) (for `master` branch).

### Describe the issue

_open3d.io.read_triangle_mesh()_ doesn't read properly .obj files on macOS Monterey 12.6. **It gives back an empty mesh**. I was using open3d version 0.15.1. I tried to install the 0.14.1 and it worked normally, so I think there may be an issue with the latest release.

### Steps to reproduce the bug

```python
import numpy as np
import open3d as o3d
objPath = 'pointCloudBuilder/models/model_1.obj'
source = o3d.io.read_triangle_mesh(objPath)
```
