Description

Summary

This epic focuses on creating a Dashboard for Ironcore, providing a human-friendly interface for interacting with the Ironcore API. The goal is to enhance usability and adoption, making it easier to manage key resources like Machines, NetworkInterfaces, and IPs visually.

Given the similarities with Gardener, we should evaluate the feasibility of adapting the Gardener Dashboard for Ironcore, leveraging its existing UI architecture and features. This approach offers multiple advantages, such as faster development, familiar UX patterns, and reduced effort in designing a new dashboard from scratch.

  • Provide a UI for managing Machines, NetworkInterfaces, IPs, Volumes, etc.
  • Evaluate and adapt Gardener’s Dashboard to fit Ironcore’s API model.
  • Define a long-term roadmap for dashboard capabilities and user experience.
❌ Out of Scope
  • Advanced automation features (to be handled in future iterations).
  • Custom UI components beyond the adapted Gardener foundation (in the first iteration).
