Missing test for hang when doing dag get: 9339e82

I know nothing about this and am just extracting it from another issue, because whatever it is, it's definitely its own issue.

Please edit this with more information, someone who owns this and cares about it.

I believe there were comments that this refers to an issue that predates any recent work, but was just discovered during it, so I have no context on how important this is, but it doesn't seem to be a new recent regression, at least.
