Document basics of tracing and how to turn it on and off from outside

Tracing data is now very dense, and a user of this library may not want it getting mixed up with their own. Some simple documentation detailing _that_ we have tracing in this library and some details about its density and how one might turn it off if it's not useful to the user but they want their own tracing data.
