"Select all" on text in inputs does not work in iOS

Description
I'm trying to select all the text I have typed into an input, and can do this by using "select" to manually select from start to finish, but the "select all" option gets ignored for some reason, ie it does nothing if you tap that within an input.
Using ionic 1 and latest version of this plugin (based on master)
