App is not working for me when placed in the background

I cloned the repository, ran 1) npm install, 2) ng run build, 3) npx cap sync, built using XCode 16.0 and ran on my iPad running iPadOS 18 but the tasks will not run in the background. They work when I dispatch manually using the button on the main page but not when the app is placed into the background and after waiting for several hours.
