Error in Git UI when performing discard

Description
On the latest main branch of git-source-control. When performing a 'Discard' via Git UI an error is generated after a few seconds. The discard does seem to actually get performed: the file disappears and appears in the discarded files screen, however the error is unsightly particularly in Studio.
Behaviour in Studio is that a few seconds after clicking discard the following error is generated, there is no apparent difference in clicking yes or no here:
In VS Code nothing is presented to the user however an error is visible in the developer console:
