does xpu-manager use i915 or xe driver component

Description
This is a more of a question and less of an issue. I wanted to know if XPU manager for linxu uses i915 driver component or xe driver component or both?
when i don't have the i915 component and just the xe component, the xpu-manager fails to discover devices.
is this expected?
