Description

Might want to talk to the MuseHub team (where Audacity installer sends people) and let them know that installing OpenVino plugins fails due to permissions issue. Just wastes the users time downloading models and then silently fails to write the files and then the installer bonks on the extraction phase when the zip is not there (because it couldn't get written). Maybe make the temporary download location somewhere writable.

I just downloaded the installer separately and ran as administrator.

Would be nice if it didn't force you to fill up your C drive with models during install. ie. offer a different location for models to be kept.

the installer progress bar gets to the end and then spends quite a while extracting the files.

Research direction

Reproduce the Windows 11 installation from MuseHub and with the separately downloaded installer, including the reported administrator run. Trace where the model archive is downloaded and extracted; done means the install does not silently lose the archive because of permissions and offers a writable, non-C: model location.
