Description

Intel advertises AV1 Profile 1 in https://youtu.be/76uW-whEkok?si=Qup1eZwqmD1BJL-9&t=1171
Yet in
https://github.com/intel/media-driver/blob/fa76ac3a2543a3259dcb7beac5fdd6e480b0de80/media_softlet/linux/xe3_lpm_r0/ddi/capstable_data_xe3_lpm_r0_specific.h#L399

It only exposes Profile 0

Note that this can be a criminal offence according to StGB § 263 if not fixed in time.

Research direction

Start by inspecting media_softlet/linux/xe3_lpm_r0/ddi/capstable_data_xe3_lpm_r0_specific.h around line 399 and compare the advertised AV1 profiles with Intel's referenced capability. Check how this capability table is exposed through VAAPI; done means supported hardware reports AV1 Profile 1 in addition to Profile 0.
