question about the chosen ACPI representation

I see that https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers/media/pci/intel/ipu-bridge.c is a thing, which is certainly nice, but what is the reason that _DSD with these properties couldn't have been used to begin with? I doubt Windows cares either way, so might as well use a more reasonable representation? Notably, these properties are effectively standardized for OF platforms.
