Why Intel SGX SDK does not support clang compilation?

Description
Intel SGX SDK doesn't support clang compilation according to intel/confidential-computing.sgx.sdk#78.
However, we successfully compiled the SDK with clang by applying only a few patches. Do you have any have security concerns for not supporting clang?
