Unable to change options in V 2.0a

Whenever I update the options in the Basic or Model selection fields, AI Playground will not apply or remember them. I have installed the software for both single user and all users with no change. When I generate an image, change functions, or restart the program it reverts back to defaults for everything. I can enter a prompt and that's about it. I can not select models, permanently change the negative prompt, or do much of anything else.

What am I missing here?

[edit: I found that if I use "manual" instead of standard or HD generation mode I can specify more options for generation through the Image menu, rendering the Model selection menu irrelevant - does not function with SDXL models, only SD1.5]
