Error: unable to open boltdb: open backup: is a directory

I am working with Influxdb on AWS. While restoring the backup of influxdb I am getting the error:"Error: unable to open boltdb: open backup: is a directory". I am working on aws cloud9 IDE and I have in my current working directory backup folder which has backup data contain manifest, metadata and tar.gz files. But when I try to restore it I get the above error, what does this mean and how can I resolve this?
