Description

Hi, after reading the Benchmarking InfluxDB vs. Cassandra for Time-Series Data, Metrics & Management paper I have some question about the benchmark.

It is said in the paper that a lot of application code are needed to get have Cassandra works as a tsdb. However there are [KairosDB](https://github.com/kairosdb/kairosdb) and [Heroic](https://github.com/spotify/heroic) which both support Cassandra, have u considered comparing with them?

The test is run on two dedicated machines. But Cassandra has a lot features for multi machine deployment like built in support for replication and consistent. It would be more convincing if InfuxDB is using its [HA solutions](https://www.influxdata.com/high-availability/) to compete with Cassandra cluster.

Also some configuration on system and databases can effect performance a lot. Though it's too verbose to talk about them in the paper, I'd like to know how u choose those parameters, by running some smaller bench first?

Thanks

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Benchmarking InfluxDB vs. Cassandra for Time-Series Data, Metrics & Management paper and the benchmark scope described in this issue. Determine whether comparisons with KairosDB and Heroic, clustered or HA deployments, and documented configuration choices are intended; done would require a maintainer-approved benchmark plan or clear written responses.
