Description

As I work to understand the Influx data model and how to create reports with Flux it is important to have good Docs (which you mostly have) and that the examples referred to actually work so that the concept can be experimented with and well understood.

The example: "Extract scalar row data" does not work within InfluxDB cloud and is likely warned about by a "Current limitations" red box at top of page.

Can you please update examples to demonstrate syntax that *does* work - even if alternatives are needed for your new Cloud customers. A current-limitation box with a passing reference to another function is mostly of use to experienced users ... missing out folk like me who are currently trying hard to understand new Influx concepts.

Research direction

Open the linked scalar-values documentation page and inspect the “Extract scalar row data” example along with its “Current limitations” notice. Reproduce the example in InfluxDB Cloud, then update the example or its alternatives so the documented syntax works for Cloud users and the page clearly explains the supported approach.
