View list of content as list view?

### Expected behavior
It would be great if there was a toggle in account preferences to change the default content display from cards to list. Reason being, I don't really utilize images in my entries. If there's a way to change the list view to a much more compact list, it would make site traversal easier.

### Actual behavior
It only has card view right now.

Start by locating the current card-based content display and the account preferences entry point. Define how the preference selects a default list view and how compact that view should be. Done means users can choose the list display in account preferences and content renders in a more compact list instead of cards.
