Password Reset email says "invalid" and takes hours to arrive

Description
I needed to reset my password but the links don't get to my inbox in enough time for it to stay valid. Last night, I requested a link and the email didn't show up until 7 this morning and said the request was invalid. I'd appreciate any feedback or help regarding this, thank you!
Update: No matter what time the email link comes in, the reset attempt is always sent back with Error: password link invalid.
