Missing Spaces Upon First Page Load

I am using holder.js on this website:

When you hover over the pictures of team members, the text on the holder objects appears without the spaces. This issue is resolved upon page reload. For a more accurate description, the Secretariat and Directorate tabs can serve as a better example.

This issue appears in all major browsers. Also, this issue appears only for custom fonts.

Reproduce the issue at https://lumun.lums.edu.pk/team.htm, especially the Secretariat and Directorate tabs, using the custom fonts and comparing the first load with a reload. Trace the initial font and placeholder rendering behavior; done means spaces appear correctly on the first load in all major browsers.
