Description

Hi, all. I'm trying to up my memory in ImageJ (Edit > Options > Memory & Thread), but when I do, I'm getting an error message. It's saying that the directory is read-only, but I've tried running ImageJ in several different writeable directories (Desktop, Apps, Downloads, Docs) and I keep getting the same error. And I'm running as the system admin. I'm on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7.

Any suggestions?

Research direction

The report names ImageJ's Edit > Options > Memory & Thread setting and MacOS Catalina 10.15.7, but no source file or test is identified. Start by reproducing the read-only directory error in the reported setting; done means identifying why writable locations are rejected and documenting or fixing the resulting behavior.
