Description
This is an interesting one but is arguably outside the scope of the typical use case of the app.
A couple of users suggested including contacts/specialists on the map page (as a toggle) - so once a user has filtered data accordingly, they can view the local experts that have opted-in and are relevant to their interests.
The specialist would appear on the map as a small marker, which can be accessed similarly to an occurrence marker
Despite being a nice idea, this would require a list of contacts with each one verifying that they are happy to have their local offices shown. Furthermore, it would require updating if specialists decide to move around - if one forgets to do this, which is highly likely, then the functionality is rather useless

Research direction
Start with the map page and the existing occurrence-marker flow mentioned in the issue. Before implementation, clarify the contact list, opt-in and location-update requirements; done would mean relevant opted-in specialists can be toggled onto the map and accessed as markers.
