Description
The goal was to provide users with some basic styles in case the theme did not provide any. I feel that in 2026, we can probably remove most of this code and apply a basic CSS reset using a selector with no specificity.
:where (.mc4wp-form input) { ... }
Alternatively, a simple way to add custom CSS for just any form would be both powerful, simple and fast. The hurdle for writing CSS is a lot lower than it used to be back in 2015.

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating the existing form-theme CSS and reviewing which rules provide default styling; confirm whether removal, a CSS reset, or custom form CSS is intended. The work is done when the agreed obsolete styling is removed and the remaining form behavior is verified.
