## **What I did:**
* Restarted computer
* Logged into i3 (with debug)
* opened google-chrome on workspace 2 on main monitor; clicked on a few tabs. Working fine
* switched with the mouse to workspace 1 on side monitor
* opened virtualbox (in floating window)
* moved the mouse to workspace 2, I think the workspace wasn't selected, but then I manually switched to workspace 2, and it was
* However the mouse was not responding to clicks. Even though I was definitely on workspace 2 (I can see it highlighted), the mouse was controlling virtualbox on workspace 1 (which wasn't highlighted).
* Restarted i3 and now things are back to "normal"

This type of problem happens quite frequently. Not just between floating and non-floating windows, although it's more likely to happen in this case from my experience. **I LOVE i3**, but get "stuck" lots of time switching workspaces, or opening new windows / tiles, switching between them can cause me to lose control. Some times keyboard works on the selected workspace, but mouse doesn't. Some times only the mouse works within the workspace, but keyboard doesn't. And some times both. Also occasionally I cannot switch workspaces with the mouse. Moving it won't select it. And rarely I think also the keyboard won't allow me to select a workspace, and only restarting i3 helps to "release" it. It's a bit intermittent so hard to reproduce, but I tried my best to find one reproducible example.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the reported debug logfile at http://logs.i3wm.org/logs/5638545540644864.bz2 and attempting the workspace-switching sequence described in the issue with i3 4.13. No source file, test, or entry point is named; done means identifying the intermittent input/workspace failure and making switching and mouse or keyboard control reliable.
