I was going to comment on #96 but I think this is a different issue.
One of my students annotated a sentence containing some math (rendered in MathJax), [visible here](https://opentext.uleth.ca/apex-standard/sec_basic_diff_rules.html#p-2226).
This seems to display OK in Firefox, but in Chrome, the MathJax breaks, as shown in the attached screenshot. (After several refreshes it rendered OK, but not initially.)

Start by reproducing the annotation on the linked page in Chrome and Firefox, using the attached screenshot as the failure reference. Investigate the interaction between annotation rendering and MathJax; done means the math renders reliably in Chrome after annotating text containing it.
