Research direction

Reproduce the issue in Legacy Microsoft Edge 44 by opening any Wikipedia page through Via, opening the Sidebar, and attempting to create an Annotation. Compare the icon menu and open Annotation cards with the expected Sidebar behavior, using the reported console and network errors as investigation clues; done means normal Sidebar functionality in Legacy Edge.
