BioPub not shown by default on BioPub Demo site

### Steps to reproduce
1. I have BioPub demo open in a Chrome tab.
2. When I arrive (logged in) I don't get the BioPub group by default, I have to select it.
3. Whatever group I'm in last on another tab is what is shown by default.

### Expected behaviour
Tell us what should happen.
I think I should get BioPub shown by default.

### Actual behaviour
Tell us what happens instead.
I get either public (if I was in public) or a group (if I was in that group) on another tab.

Tell us which browser, browser version, and operating system you were using when
you encountered this issue.

If this a customer requested feature, make sure to add that label.

Start by reproducing the logged-in BioPub Demo behavior in Chrome with multiple tabs, switching between Public and BioPub groups. Trace how the current group is selected on arrival; done means the BioPub group is shown by default regardless of the group selected in another tab.
