User text is lost on invalid submission of change email form

Description
Type a new email address into the change email form, type the wrong password, submit - the form comes back with a password error message, and the email address has reverted to the current value, the new email address that the user typed is lost.
This only seems to happen on the new activity pages email form, not the legacy one.
