Description

Hi all,

Just finished the course and wanted to give an honest feedback.

Here are my thoughts:
- it doesn't feel like a whole unique course but rather a collection of different modules, each one being written with a very different style. I know it's a community course but I would try to make it more homogeneous.
- Consequently, a lot of chapters are repeating. I feel like a read the same phrases or paragraphs probably 5 times in a row.
- As a consequence, it feels very unnecessarily dense and the reader can get tired of it. I could feel like there was a will to have content, even if it doesn't always bring something to the table.
- The introduction should stay light. On the contrary, it starts talking about feature matching, giving some code, etc... It's interesting but it should maybe be in a separate section. So in the end it's quite a mouthful and could be deterrent.
- All through the course, I read stuff like "As we will see in next sections" but we never see anything in the next sections. I know it is because it is a living course that is regularly updated. But I would try to get rid of those false adverts, and put them only when you are sure the section was implemented.
- As for the final assignement, I tried to finetune an object detection model. I didn't have many examples at hand because a lot of tutorials on the Hugging Face don't work. I ended up following the fashionpedia one, uploading the model, filling the card, creating a space, etc... But I don't have a lot of compute ressource so my model doesn't perform well. My point is the project should be better guided, especially if the amount of valid reference resources on HF is limited. It shouldn't also be dependent on the compute resource of the trainee. I don't know if it's a parameter that plays in the certification process. ALSO, I filled in the form to get my assignment checked and get certified but didn't hear back from anyone. Is it normal? This process should be automated.

All that being that, I know it's difficult to put a course like that together so thank you for that. It is still very valuable. But as I say, there is a lot of progress to be made to make it up to par with other courses like the Agents Course of the Audio Course.

Cheers

Antoine
