This package is a maintained fork and continuation of the verified homebridge-tuya-ir plugin by prasad-edlabadka, published under my npm scope as @cbrunnkvist/homebridge-tuya-ir.

Version 1.4.0 adds Node.js 22/24 support, improved error recovery, validation for incomplete configuration, automated CI verification, and a GitHub release. I use this fork to automate air conditioners throughout my apartment.

The original plugin remains available at https://github.com/prasad-edlabadka/homebridge-tuya-ir and may continue to evolve independently.

The plugin does not offer the same nor less functionality than that of any existing verified plugin.

🟠 No (please explain in the more information box at the end)

The plugin successfully installs and does not start unless it is configured.

🟢 Yes

The plugin does not require the user to run Homebridge in a TTY or with non-standard startup parameters, even for initial configuration.

🟢 Yes

The plugin does not contain any analytics or calls that enable you to track the user.

🟢 Yes

If the plugin needs to write files to disk (cache, keys, etc.), it stores them inside the Homebridge storage directory.

🟢 Yes

The plugin does not throw unhandled exceptions, the plugin must catch and log its own errors.

🟢 Yes

More Information

This package intentionally overlaps with the existing verified plugin because it is a continuation rather than a new feature category. I am not claiming that the original project is abandoned; its maintainer has resumed development.

I request an individual review of whether verification should be transferred, shared, or declined for this separately published fork. The Homebridge team can determine the appropriate outcome.

Research direction

Review the linked plugin repository and the verification checklist in this issue first. Compare the fork's stated Node.js 22/24 support, error handling, configuration validation, and CI evidence with the Homebridge verification requirements. Done means recording whether verification should be transferred, shared, or declined.
