Description
Model Name: Macbook Pro M1 Max
macOS Version: Tahoe 26.5.2
App Version: 2026.7.1 (Apple App Store)
Safari Version: Version 26.5.2 (21624.2.5.11.8)
**Home Assistant Core Version**
Installation method: Home Assistant OS
Core: 2026.7.3
Supervisor: 2026.07.3
Operating System: 18.1
Frontend: 20260624.6
**Describe the bug**
Version 2026.7.1 now shows a permanent white bar on top in full screen mode, and the menu bar menu no longer appears. Both worked properly in the previous version.
**To Reproduce**
Run Home Assistant, set it to full screen.
1) Try to open the menu (via menu bar) - nothing appears.
2) Since this release there is suddenly a white menu bar permanently visible.
**Expected behavior**
Being able to access the menu (to set preferences, quit etc) and in full screen mode the white menu bar should not be visible - it should only show when moving the mouse to the far top of the screen.
**Screenshots**
**Additional context**
1) I have Home Assistant open, full screen, on a 2nd monitor (Corsair Xeneon Edge).
2) This issue is not relevant for Safari

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Home Assistant macOS app version 2026.7.1, using full-screen mode on a second monitor. Inspect the code handling the macOS menu bar and full-screen window behavior. Done means the menu opens for preferences and quitting, and the white menu bar stays hidden until the pointer reaches the top.
