App not updating time zone changes with persistent connection enabled

**Description of problem, include YAML if issue is related to notifications:**

Have persistent connections turned on (the notification thing that needs to be manually hidden) on a tablet without cell connection. Recently crossed timezones. System showed correct calendar entries while in the travel tz but upon returning to home tz the companion app did not update tz change. Reset frontend cache had no effect. Changing user tz preference to server showed correct calendar entries. Had to go into system apps and do a force stop on the companion app to get use system timezone to update; simply coosing the app at the task manager wasn't enough to convince the app to update tz from os.
