Description

**Home Assistant Android app version(s):**

**Android version(s):**
13/14/15/16
**Device model(s):**
Numerous OnePlus devices
**Home Assistant version:**
2026.1.6-full
**Last working Home Assistant release (if known):**
The previous one, November 2025 I believe
**Description of problem, include YAML if issue is related to notifications:**
Since upgrading to the latest version of Home Assistant Android, NFC tagging no longer works. My phone reads the tag, and buzzes to confirm, but the HA app does nothing at all.

If we open the HA app full screen in the foreground, it works, but background tagging is broken.

NFC launch option on the device is unchanged and all devices are impacted, so it's not specific to one phone.

**Companion App Logs:**
Logs to follow. Since checking, but not changing, all the OS NFC settings on my device...this one appears to be working again. Will persist with this report at the upgrade broke it and I suspect we should track down why.

Rebooted my phone, it broke again. Will extract logs now

**Additional information:**
Could it be an app registration issue triggered when the upgrade disconnected the handsets from the server?
