Shell script failure: Compiling GNU Nano from source

Hello, I’m kind of new here so I’m sorry if that’s an expected behavior not a bug

So I downloaded the required source code from https://www.nano-editor.org/download.php

However when I try to run “configure” which is a shell script, it always exists the a-shell app, even after I tried to add the “disable” flags found in the instructions here

It’s strange because THIS IS A SHELL SCRIPT, I would understand why it won’t work if it was binary, but it’s just an sh script
