Description

@hluk Apologies for the late response. Acutely aware that I could have brought this up without creating a new issue if I had checked my messages and responded in a timely manner. I guess life got busy, but I'm back now.

**Describe the bug**

[Issue 3579](https://github.com/hluk/CopyQ/issues/3579)
All the following sections are contained within this, so I won't restate all the details here. Instead I will focus on new observations that make the issue clearer and easier to diagnose.

**To Reproduce**

**Expected behavior**

**Screenshots**

**Version, OS and Environment**

**Additional context**

Imma just get right to the point, since I've already posted the details on the last bug report. I tested it just now though by going through a chatgpt convo and copying a bunch of its responses, since they're long, there are many of them, and they're relatively disposable. I will update on what I have seen after trying the new update:

Currently I have a separate sync tab since I found that necessary to avoid the current quirks I've experienced. For that reason I first copied ~ 50 chatgpt responses and then selected and dragged them over to my sync tab in the UI.
No issues so far.
Then I dragged them back into non-synced tab, and that's when issues became evident.
Clips 1-40 out of 48 were completely wiped, 41-47 were fine, and 48 was wiped.
Oddly particular behavior.

This is what the missing clips look like in practice:

they make the program lag and glitch a bit whenever I scroll over these blank entries.
The data looks about like this:

Image

Only x-copyq-itemsync-basename and x-copyq-itemsync-sync-path have content (path and filename, with said filename not present on disk) and the other fields are empty.

Also, weirdly, it left me with 7 clips in my sync tab which were duplicates of the ones I already moved to my non-synced tab. Whether that is part of the original problem or simply residue left over from the attempted fixes so far is uncertain.

I then tried with 10 new chatgpt responses to see if the behavior changed, moved them to my sync tab, and upon moving them back all 10 went completely blank.

So, there's that anyway.

Apart from that, we still have the other problem, where activating items in the synced tab first sets the clip tray to ```` as shown:

Only *after* being set to empty does it ever actually activate the item selected.

Hopefully, these details make the specific issue clearer and easier to fix. If there are further tests you'd like me to run to narrow things down here, I wouldn't mind doing that either, and I will try not to wait over two weeks to respond this time.
