A couple days later the user send this, the transaction now shows "pending" even though there are no pending transactions in the activities tab of the Wallet:

Start by reproducing the replace-by-fee transaction flow shown in the screenshots and compare the red error with the Wallet activities tab. Trace how replacement and pending states are reported; done means a successful replacement is not shown as an error and the Wallet no longer reports a transaction as pending when no pending activity exists.
