Description
[Imported from JIRA. Reported by Edsko de Vries @edsko) as DPSLN-2 on 2012-11-07 15:33:22]
This is not a major issue, because even if we do, there is still no guarantee that a peer still exists after it has been returned by findPeers.

Research direction
Start by locating SimpleLocalnet and the findPeers implementation. The issue does not name files, tests, or a detection mechanism, so first establish how peer existence is currently determined and what removal should mean. Done should include agreed behavior for peers that no longer exist, with corresponding tests if the project has coverage for this path.
