ERROR: thread blocked indefinitely in an MVar operation
This could be related to similar problems as issue #87 but I've not had time to investigate yet.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure with ./dist/build/TestCH/TestCH and focus on the MergeChannels test, which reports an indefinite MVar block. Compare the behavior with issue #87 and investigate why the failure is intermittent. Done means identifying and fixing the cause so MergeChannels completes reliably.
