Description

Is there any way to achieve a gradient in the filling of an area chart?

Capture

I have not been able to find anything in the docs.

If not, how feasible would it be to add this feature? I think it greatly improves the aesthetics of area charts.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Research direction

The issue names area-chart filling and the documentation but no implementation file or test. Start by locating the area-chart fill implementation and checking the documentation for existing fill options. Determine the intended gradient API and verify the result against the attached example; done means the feature works and is documented.
