Description

The build for Pythonplot.com started failing with 0.7.0 trying to run

(ggplot(diamonds) +

  aes('depth', fill='cut', color='cut') +

  geom_density(alpha=0.1))

I get a memory error thrown by statsmodels which you can see in the build log.

Research direction

Reproduce the failure with the provided diamonds density example and inspect the linked Travis build log, starting at the statsmodels memory error. Determine which part of the 0.7.0 density workflow causes the excessive memory use; done means the example builds successfully without MemoryError.
