Description
### Overview
This is needed for issue #344. Since the CI action runs inside a container, **we would need our project to run without a container** so that it doesn't create a nested-container situation.
### Action Items
- [ ] modify project build configurations to also work without docker
### Resources/Instructions
- I got pretty close to that point one time just chatting with ai. I think it's a good place to start.
